The Toyota GR GT features a 4.0L twin-turbo 90º V8 engine, producing 650 PS (641 HP) & 850 N-m (627 lb-ft) in combination with a hybrid system including an electric motor integrated within the transaxle, ahead of the 8-speed automatic gearbox.
Toyota claims this road-legal race car had an unrelenting focus on three key elements.
1) A low center of gravity.
2) Low weight with high rigidity.
3) Aerodynamic Performance.
In this video, we’ll break down the above, theorize the vehicle’s center of gravity height, 0-60 time, and redline, and check out the engineering details of the powertrain and transaxle.
