US-Iran peace talks under strain as Hormuz standoff threatens ceasefire | DW News

From DW News.

A fragile two‑week ceasefire in the Iran war is under strain, with all sides accusing each other of violating Tuesday’s deal. At the centre of the dispute is the Strait of Hormuz — one of the world’s most critical economic arteries and a key pillar of the US‑Iran agreement. US President Donald Trump has publicly accused Iran of failing to allow the free flow of oil through the strait, calling the situation "dishonourable."
DW spoke to Middle East analysts Siavush Randjbar‑Daemi of the University of St Andrews and Alan Eyre, a diplomatic fellow at the Middle East Institute, about the standoff — and whether the war has underscored just how much leverage Iran wields through its control of the Strait of Hormuz.
