Kirk Moore, the principal of Oklahoma’s Pauls Valley High School, is being hailed a hero after tackling an alleged gunman who pointed his gun and threatened two students to “get on the ground.”

CCTV footage shows the high-tension moment when the suspect Victor Hawkins walks in with the firearm. Two students can be seen running away right as Moore jumps on the assailant.

While holding Hawkins down, Moore was reportedly shot in the leg. Another staff member was quick to disarm the gunman before rushing for help.

Hawkins was arrested on the scene and charged with two counts of Pointing a Firearm, one count of Shooting with Intent to Kill, and two counts of Unlawful Carry.

Principal Moore has since been released from the hospital.
