Defence Minister David McGuinty says recruitment intake in the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) has reached its highest level in more than 30 years.
The military enrolled more than 7,310 new members this year, surpassing its target of 6,957, McGuinty said Monday.

He also said the military has made significant progress on strategic intake targets, adding that 70 of its 97 critical occupations are now filled.
