Space Camp Founder Ed Buckbee Dies at 89

Ed Buckbee, the man who was present at the birth of the American space program and then ran the famous camp that inspired a new generation of astronauts, has died at 89. A West Virginia native who served in the Army after college, Buckbee began his career with NASA in 1961 working as a public information officer at the dawn of the American Space Age. Sunday TODAY’s Willie Geist remembers a life well lived.
