From TODAY.
Ed Buckbee, the man who was present at the birth of the American space program and then ran the famous camp that inspired a new generation of astronauts, has died at 89. A West Virginia native who served in the Army after college, Buckbee began his career with NASA in 1961 working as a public information officer at the dawn of the American Space Age.
