Canadian border officials warn about growing use of animal tranquillizers in fentanyl

Health Canada is cracking down on chemicals used to make fentanyl, adding more substances to the list of controlled substances on Wednesday.

That means anyone caught illegally importing or distributing these chemicals could face charges.

But another dangerous substance keeps turning up in fentanyl — animal tranquillizers.

As Touria Izri, new documents suggest industry pressure may be slowing efforts to keep them out of the drug supply.
