US President Donald Trump expressed confidence Friday that the sides are close to a deal, but a senior Iranian official cast doubt on some of his claims about Tehran making concessions.

Meanwhile, only a handful of ships passed through the key waterway Friday, despite Iran’s foreign minister saying it was open to commercial vessels. The Iranian parliament speaker said the strait will close again if the US doesn’t lift its naval blockade in the region.
