FBI director Kash Patel filed a lawsuit seeking $250 million against The Atlantic Monthly Group for what he calls “a sweeping, malicious and defamatory hit piece.” On April 17th, The Atlantic reported that “bouts of excessive drinking” affected Patel’s ability to serve as director and cited anonymous sources described as “more than two dozen people… including current and former FBI officials.” NBC’s Kelly O’Donnell reports for TODAY.
