More than 16 billion beauty and personal care packages were created in the United States in 2024 but only an estimated 20 percent of them were recycled. Now, the nonprofit Pact is setting out to make the beauty industry become more sustainable by helping consumers recycle their beauty empties with collection bins around the United States and teaming up with brands like L’Oréal, ILIA and Summer Fridays to reduce waste.
