While Trump mostly stuck to his prepared remarks at a White House state dinner, the president did have several asides. Among them was Trump touching on the Iran war, a point of contention between the two countries as the United Kingdom has declined to get involved in the war. Trump said during his toast that Charles agreed that Iran should not be able to have a nuclear weapon.
“We’re doing a little Middle East work right now. We’re doing very well. We have militarily defeated that particular opponent, and we’re never going to let that opponent ever – Charles agrees with me even more than I do – we’re never going to let that opponent have a nuclear weapon,” Trump said.
