Beth Stern’s book "Coco and Stephen, Together Forever" is based on the real-life friendship between her rescue animals Cocomelon, a cat, and Stephen, a rabbit. Though cats and rabbits are not known for getting along, Coco and Stephen were inseparable from the moment they met, and Stern calls them the "mayors" of her foster animals, going through rooms and checking on their fellow rescues.

All author proceeds from Stern’s book will go to North Shore Animal League.
