Iranian state media is reporting that Tehran has sent its response to a US proposal to end the war. But the details of that response – delivered via mediators in Pakistan – were not immediately known. Meanwhile an Iranian military spokesman warned it could use ‘surprising’ new methods of retaliation, if the country is attacked again. Recent days have seen flare-ups in fighting in and around the Strait of Hormuz, despite a ceasefire being in place. On Sunday a drone set a small fire on a ship off the coast of Qatar, while the United Arab Emirates and Kuwait reported separate drones entering their airspaces.
