Cosplayers fill Toronto Comicon as fans celebrate comics, gaming and pop culture

Cosplayers packed Toronto Comicon, where thousands attended the three-day event celebrating comics, gaming and pop culture.

The lineup included Cary Elwes, Mara Wilson and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cast members marking the franchise’s 35th anniversary.

Fans showcased detailed handmade costumes, with one attendee saying, “It’s like a confidence boost… you can go out and be this character.”

Others said the event offered a sense of escapism, adding it’s “a nice way to just have a little bit of escapism and have a lot of fun.”
