The conflict between Iran and the United States and Israel has effectively halted maritime traffic through the Strait of Hormuz, which handled around 20% of the global shipping of oil before the war.

Former Trump Secretary of the Navy Kenneth Braithwaite describes what he calls Iran’s “two navies,” one of which is wreaking havoc on ships trying to navigate Hormuz.
