Trump “undeterred” after latest attempt on his life at Correspondents’ Dinner, White House says

From Global News.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt held a press briefing Monday as an investigation into a gunman who stormed the White House Correspondents’ Dinner on Saturday night continues. Cole Tomas Allen, of Torrance, Calif., 31, has been charged.

Despite the threat to his life and having faced three assassination attempts in three years, Leavitt said Trump changing the types of events he normally goes to "is going to be the conversation going forward," but the president "is undeterred" and doesn’t want "these grave acts of political violence to change our way of American life."

Asked about disinformation and misinformation circulating online that the incident was "staged," Leavitt responded saying "it’s very important to us that we get the truth and the facts about this case and any case out there as quickly as possible to dispel some of that crazy nonsense."
