It has been one year since the tragic attack at B.C.’s Lapu Lapu Day festival.

Eleven people were killed and dozens more were injured when a vehicle rammed through a crowded street during the annual festival celebrating Filipino culture and heritage.

“I’m not even sure you could describe the horror that I first saw,” Sgt. Jesse Schellenberg recounted of that night.

As the community comes together to remember the lives lost, Global News looks back on the tragedy and remembers those who lost their lives that day.
