Police are expected to provide an update Friday on the investigation into the deaths of two children whose bodies were found in a vehicle in Calgary.

Police have charged the children’s father, a 37-year-old man, with two counts of first-degree murder.

They said in a statement that the victims were a five-year-old boy and a three-year-old girl.

The accused is scheduled to appear in court on Monday. A publication ban prevents the children from being identified.
