The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences is addressing the use of artificial intelligence with new rules for the leading and supporting acting categories, saying only roles “demonstrably performed by humans” will be eligible. The same will be true for the writing categories, clarifying only “human-authored” scripts can qualify for the nomination.
