At least 12 countries, including Canada, are working to trace passengers who disembarked from a luxury cruise ship before cases of the deadly hantavirus were confirmed onboard. Heidi Petracek reports on the Canadians being monitored and how the World Health Organization is trying to alleviate fears of another pandemic.

Increased HIV transmission in Manitoba has prompted the province to declare a public health emergency, with 19.5 confirmed cases per 100,000 people in the province as of 2024. Katherine Dornian looks at why cases are on the rise and what difference a public health emergency declaration makes. 

During the COVID-19 pandemic, millions of Canadians relied on the Canada Emergency Response Benefit. People who signed up received an automated message, but tens of thousands who never applied also received the same text. As Touria Izri reports, hackers targeted CRA accounts at least three times in 2020, using stolen information to impersonate victims.
