Police inspect a bank in Sinzig, Germany, where a hostage situation ended after a special police unit freed two people unharmed but the suspects escaped and are on the loose, police said. Officers entered the bank branch in the town of Sinzig but did not find any of the suspects, police said, adding that investigators now believe that, "immediately after locking the individuals in the vault, the perpetrator or perpetrators left the scene by means as yet unknown".
