A Toronto city councillor says he’s under OPP investigation.

Though he did not specify the nature of the allegations, Parthi Kandavel noted his surprise in an Instagram post, writing: “I’ve strived to maintain the highest standards of ethics and integrity and will address any allegations that suggest otherwise.”

Kandavel has represented Ward 20, Scarborough Southwest, since winning a byelection in 2023. It is currently unclear if he plans to run in the fall municipal election.

As Megan King reports, Global News has reached out to the OPP for comment.
