UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer has said he will "get on with governing" and that a leadership contest would not be triggered.

It follows a number of ministers resigning, the latest being Safeguarding Minister Jess Phillips who said "deeds, not words matter", in her resignation letter, and Victims Minister Alex Davies-Jones.

The PM has been under pressure after a poor showing in local elections for Labour last week.
