Documents reveal Ford government spent nearly $200K in extra costs for private jet

From Global News.

New documents reveal Ontario Premier Doug Ford’s purchase of a private jet will cost Ontario taxpayers hundreds of thousands out of pocket. Weeks after purchasing and then subsequently selling the jet, the Ford government released the receipts that indicate the plane spent weeks in Montreal getting prepared for a transfer of ownership.

While the government sold the jet for the same amount it was purchased for, the documents reveal almost $200,000 in extra charges on maintenance, storage and inspection costs, a specialized aviation lawyer and an aviation acquisition expert.

As Colin D’Mello reports, the issue has harangued the government for weeks, dragging down the progressive conservative’s polling numbers.
