Polls have closed in Denmark, and exit polls suggest that both left‑ and right‑leaning blocs are likely to fall short of a parliamentary majority. Denmark’s Social Democrat Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen called the early election, hoping that her firm stance against US President Donald Trump’s attempts to acquire Greenland would boost support at the ballot box. But the diplomatic drama hasn’t shifted voters’ focus away from domestic and economic issues.
