Investigation into death of Montreal officer continues 30 years later

From Global News.

Thirty years ago, a Montreal police officer was gunned down in the line of duty during a routine traffic stop. The person who pulled the trigger was never found.

This week, Montreal police and the family of officer Andre Lalonde gathered at the scene of the crime on the anniversary of his death to remember him.

Lalonde’s son Patrick says he’s been told investigators have an idea who killed his father, but they’ve never had enough proof for a conviction.

As Mike Armstrong reports, the suspect spent most of the last 30 years in prison for other crimes but is now out on probation.
