Images released by Iran’s Revolutionary Guards on 23 April 2026 show what it says are its naval forces seizing two commercial ships attempting to cross the Strait of Hormuz. This comes amid a fragile ceasefire between the US and Iran, which President Donald Trump has extended indefinitely. The Strait of Hormuz is usually the gateway for about one-fifth of the world’s oil and liquified natural gas.
