NTSB provide update after deadly Air Canada crash at New York’s LaGuardia airport | LIVE

From Global News.

The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is scheduled to hold a press conference after an Air Canada jet carrying 76 passengers collided with a fire truck while landing at New York’s LaGuardia Airport, killing two pilots and injuring several others on Sunday.

Before colliding with the plane originating from Quebec’s Montreal-Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport, officials say the emergency vehicle was crossing the tarmac late Sunday after being given permission to check on another plane reporting an odour onboard.

The Transportation Safety Board of Canada (TSB) deployed a team of investigators to support the NTSB in their investigation surrounding the collision.

After shutting down for several hours, LaGuardia Airport reopened Monday.
