It’s long been thought that planets that orbit two suns – such as Tatooine, the adopted home planet of Luke Skywalker in the iconic film franchise ‘Star Wars’ – are rare.

So far, astronomers have confirmed the existence of approximately 50 circumbinary planets.

But a recent study from the University of Lancashire is challenging that assumption.
