Trump touts talks with Iran, “otherwise, we’ll just keep bombing our little hearts out”

From Global News.

U.S. President Donald Trump has extended the deadline for Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, stating that the U.S. will hold off on power plant strikes for five days. Trump made this announcement on his Truth Social site on Monday, just hours before the original deadline for the strikes.

While speaking to reporters this morning, Trump mentioned that Iran is eager to "make a deal" and claimed that U.S. envoys have been in discussions with a "respected" Iranian leader.

"We have had very, very strong talks. We’ll see where they lead. We have points, major points of agreement, I would say, almost all points of agreement… we’ve had very strong talks, Mr. Witkoff and Mr. Kushner had them," Trump said.

He added that "at some point, very soon meet. We’re doing a five-day period. We’ll see how that goes. And if it goes well, we’re going to end up with settling this. Otherwise, we’ll just keep bombing our little hearts out."
