Without Brits ‘you’d be speaking French’: King Charles III pokes fun at Trump | AFP

From AFP News Agency.

King Charles III poked fun at US President Donald Trump at a White House state dinner joking that, without the British, Americans would be speaking French.

This was in response to a comment from Trump at the Davos summit in January, in which he said that without US help in World War II, "you’d be speaking German and a little Japanese."

But the king’s light-hearted remark reflected the warm tone as he and Trump bonded over the "special relationship" between London and Washington, despite tensions over the war in Iran.
