At least 22 injured after Russia launches daytime strike on Ukraine’s Lviv, UNESCO site

From Global News.

At least 22 people, including two city officials were injured following a Russian daytime drone strike in Lviv, officials say.

Russia launched more than 400 drones across Ukraine in the middle of the day Tuesday, Ukraine’s air force said – an abrupt change from Moscow’s usual tactic of overnight aerial attacks.

Lviv Governor Maksym Kozytskyi said part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site around Lviv’s 17th-century St. Andrew’s Church was damaged in the onslaught.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy issued a statement to citizens from Kyiv after the attacks, saying only pressure can persuade Russian President Vladimir Putin to end the war – pressure he said was “currently lacking.”
