The family of a woman whose remains were found near Hope, B.C. more than five years ago, is reeling with a bizarre new development in the upcoming trial of her husband, Iain Hunt.

Hunt was charged in February 2025 with one count of indignity to human remains for allegedly disposing of his wife’s body, two days before he reported her missing.

No one has been charged with the death of 48-year-old Trina Hunt. The Attorney General of Canada is now getting involved, citing national security.
