Despite mutual threats US President Donald Trump says the war with Iran could end soon | DW

From DW News.

US President Donald Trump says the war with Iran could end soon. Trump told the world to watch out for what he’s calling an ‘amazing two days’. At the same time the US and Iran continue to trade threats.
A senior Iranian military official threatened to halt trade in the region if the US does not lift its naval blockade. The commander of Iran’s joint military command warned that Iran would completely block exports and imports across the Persian Gulf region, the Sea of Oman and the Red Sea.
The US military said its blockade on Iranian ports has been fully implemented. US central command posted on X that guided-missile destroyers were involved in the operation and said the blockade is being enforced impartially against vessels of all nations entering or leaving coastal areas or ports in Iran.
Donald Trump announced the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz after failed talks in Islamabad between Washington and Tehran over the weekend. Now officials from Pakistan, Iran and several Gulf states say negotiating teams from the US and Iran could return to Islamabad later this week.
