From Global News.
Ontario Premier Doug Ford, along with Toronto Mayor Olivia Chow, made a bid Tuesday for Toronto to be the headquarters of the NATO-aligned Defence, Security and Resilience Bank (DSRB) for NATO and allies.
In response to Quebec’s accusation that Toronto was waging a “fear campaign” by invoking the threat of a Quebec referendum to undermine Montreal’s bid to host DSRB, Ford called Quebecers "fine people."
Ford said he didn’t believe in "…attacking any other bits. I just don’t believe in that."
"We have an incredible relationship with Quebec. I’ve had an incredible relationship with the former Premier Legault, talked to the new Premier and we’re going to continue having that great relationship with the population," Ford told reporters.
Canada has been chosen to host the bank’s headquarters, with Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver competing for the project, which is expected to create more than 3,000 jobs.
