From Global News.
Saint John’s King’s Square in New Brunswick was full of protesters opposing a 390-megawatt data centre proposed for the community of Lorneville on Saturday morning.
Organizers say such a data centre will have ramifications for the whole province, regardless of where it is located. Their main concern is the lack of public information provided thus far.
"In Virginia, in the U.S., in the past five years energy bills have gone up 297 per cent, they have the most data centres in the U.S. right now, so there is proof in the pudding and the facts are there," protest organizer Sarah Nelson said.
