If you’ve had to visit your local hospital emergency department recently, this won’t come as a shock: wait times, according to a new report, have increased significantly in Ontario.

A new report by the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives highlights costs that have been growing by six per cent per year due to population growth, aging and inflation.

It found about 90 per cent of those who were waiting to be admitted, had to wait up to 44 hours in 2024-25 — which was a 52 per cent increase over five years.
