FBI Director Kash Patel was grilled today on Capitol Hill about his leadership and temperament. Sen. Chris Van Hollen questioned Patel about The Atlantic’s reporting on his excessive drinking and erratic behavior. Patel denied the allegations and in turn accused Van Hollen of “slinging margaritas in El Salvador." Sen. Patty Murray repeatedly expressed her concerns about "serious leadership" of the department and told Patel to "stick to podcasting." Meanwhile, Sen. Gary Peters questioned Patel about the FBI’s probes into the 2020 election and election security in the upcoming midterms.
