One of music’s most successful artists is wading into the debate about lifeguards at Vancouver beaches. Peter Gabriel is chiming in from across the pond on the park board’s plan to cut lifeguard positions by half.

The decision to cut positions was made to save money.

City Councillor Pere Fry recently tried to get the City to come up with the funds, but the mayor and his majority shot that down and sent it back to the Park Board.
