The ceasefire between the United States and Iran appeared more delicate than ever on Tuesday, after the Islamic republic launched attacks on the United Arab Emirates and the United States sank six Iranian small boats.

Tensions on the water rose after the United States launched "Project Freedom," an effort to unilaterally reopen the Strait of Hormuz, the critical shipping channel Iran closed at the war’s start, driving up global fuel prices.
