“To learn a lesson, you have to have ears to hear”: Carney slams Poilievre during question period

From Global News.

In his first appearance in question period in the House of Commons on Wednesday since securing a majority government, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney had some words for the Conservative Opposition Leader Pierre Poilievre, after Pierre attacked Carney’s experience as a central banker for England and Canada.

Pierre suggested Carney has “learned all the wrong lessons” from “all the failed economic experiments that only benefit insiders with tax havens like him.” He then went on to demand the Liberals remove all fuel taxes for the rest of the year as opposed to suspending the fuel excise tax for five months.

Carney responded that he feels like he’s “in the presence of students” and touted Canada is in the “best fiscal position in the G7” after an I.M.F. report ranked Canada with the second fastest growth within in the G7.
