The U.S. military says it fired on two more Iranian oil tankers Friday after exchanging fire with Iranian forces in the Strait of Hormuz overnight — undermining a month-old fragile ceasefire as the U.S. waits for Iran’s response to its latest proposal to end the war.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio said he hopes to receive a “serious offer” from Iran later Friday.
