July 1 marks a key deadline in the review of the Canada-U.S.-Mexico free trade agreement (CUSMA), but America’s top trade official, Jamieson Greer, has said it’s unlikely some key sticking points will be resolved by that point.
While speaking to a think tank in Washington, Greer suggested talks are going more quickly with Mexico than Canada.
As Global’s Touria Izri reports, CUSMA has shielded Canada from some of the worst tariffs the Trump administration has rolled out.
