Posidonia plants are a vulnerable seagrass species vital to the health of the Mediterranean. At the popular yachting harbour of Porto Rafti near Athens, a project is underway to protect them.
With thousands of boats flocking to the bay in the summer, the plants have endured decades of damage by anchors scraping the seabed.
The eco-mooring initiative is designed to present vessels with a less harmful alternative. The government hopes to extend the project nationwide.
