Camp Mystic, the Texas Christian girls camp where 27 campers and counselors were killed by a devastating flood last July, is withdrawing its application for a summer 2026 camp license after it had been preparing to welcome back hundreds of campers next month. The decision follows an emotional hearing this week where victims’ families urged lawmakers not to allow the camp to reopen. NBC’s Priscilla Thompson reports for TODAY.
