Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney is set to unveil Canada’s first sovereign wealth fund during an announcement in Ottawa on Monday.

The announcement comes a day ahead of the spring economic statement, one year to the day after the party secured a minority mandate in the federal election.

It also comes the same week three new Liberal MPs are expected to be sworn in to office, officially giving Carney’s government majority status.
