Finance Minister Francois-Philippe Champagne joins The West Block fresh off his spring fiscal update to talk about why Ottawa is being invited further into the European fold.
 
"We’ve been invited to more European meetings than I’ve seen in a long time,"  Champagne said, adding that "Canada is seen very strategically around the world."
 
This comes as Prime Minister Mark Carney meets with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in his nation’s capital ahead of the European Political Community summit. Canada is the first non-European country to attend these meetings, which began after Russia’s 2022 invasion of Ukraine and take place twice a year.
