An 18-year-old male suspect was arrested on Friday morning in connection to two separate drive-by shootings in Toronto. Authorities say they are investigating the latest shooting at a Toronto synagogue as a suspected hate-motivated offence where three people were injured.
"The community is shaken and the community is angry. I think we are a community that is proud. We’re proud of our identity we’re proud to be Jewish. but there is constant intimidation," Sara Lefton of the United Jewish Appeal Federation said.
The latest incident happened Thursday night outside The Congregation Chasidei Bobov Synagogue near Bathurst and the 401 in North York. According to police, the weapon used was an imitation firearm that left a nearly identical scene to another drive-by shooting at Bathurst and Lawrence over a week ago.
