Hurricane-strength winds knocked over semi trucks on BC’s Coquihalla Highway

From Global News.

The wind that swept through the Fraser Valley and Hope, B.C., on Wednesday night was so strong that it tipped semi trucks on their sides.

The trucks were travelling on the Coquihalla Highway before the Othello Road exit, when it is believed the first few trucks were blown over on their sides. Trucks waiting in traffic, as the vehicles backed up, were also blown over.

The Coquihalla has finally been reopened and power restored to parts of the province by a powerful overnight storm. As Taya Fast reports, the weather system that toppled trees and large trucks was packing hurricane-strength winds.
