Real estate professionals in British Columbia’s Lower Mainland are warning others in the industry – especially women – to stay vigilant.

Agents are reporting several incidents across the Fraser Valley, including one bizarre encounter with a potential client that ended with police getting involved.

Xyrina Gutierrez said the man told her he was from a wealthy family in Saudi Arabia and wanted her to fly with him to Dubai on a private jet. She also said he would touch her leg and every time she wanted to leave, he would turn the conversation around, even telling her at one point that her car had been towed. Surrey police are now investigating.
